In April 2019, the Ipswich School of Dancing proudly opened our second branch in Southend, Essex. Our Essex branch is run by  former pupil of ours and very experienced teacher Janine Ellis.

Janine brings the same high standards of teaching to Essex as what you are used to from us in Ipswich.

We are very excited to welcome Janine Ellis back to our teaching team. Janine was trained by the Ipswich School of Dancing and taught for us for many years. The is an excellent manager for our new venue.

Janine started dancing aged 7 in a local Church Hall and quickly progressed into the medal test and competition scene. After a very successful career as a juvenile and junior, including representing the country in International competitions, she was approached by her then teacher, to train to become an instructor. Janine took her first professional qualification with the Ipswich School of Dancing at the age of 17 obtaining Honours in both Ballroom and Latin disciplines and has now established herself as one of the country’s best.

Janine has trained numerous IDTA Nationwide champions and in April 2019 at the IDTA Medallist of the Year competition had 18 finalists and 5 Nationwide Champions across age groups from 8 to 60 years old, including a champion in the Additional Needs section.

Janine teaches children and adults from beginners to competitors in both classes and private lesson formats and enjoys sharing her passion with them all.
